'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Ethan Galbraith continues clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he remembers the thrilling dying seconds of Swansea's remarkable turnaround victory against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The game culminated with Galbraith temporarily wearing a spectator's eyewear amid the pitch-side pile-on.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith struck the post with a long-range strike from distance, and his teammate immediately slammed home the rebound before racing off toward the home end to mark the goal, with supporters swarming the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The result capped an unbelievable turnaround given the Welsh side had trailed 2-0 deep into the final 45 minutes. During the euphoria, there was some collateral damage. The midfielder recalled, "There was a supporter sort of calling out and we were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're people, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

That win booked a fourth-round match at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, a club Galbraith came close against at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with his former club in February. He had a prime vantage point when his former team took the lead in stunning style, with the attacker's volley from about way out going in via the woodwork and the City goalkeeper. It seems unfair that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've credited him for having a go from that far out," commented Galbraith, who started in midfield before moving to right wing-back after the team changed shape. That meant getting to grips with the England international, with whom he traded tops, and the attacker was among the opposition who praised the way the underdogs played positively.

City's Quality

"Fitness-wise they are exceptional but even the basics and routine actions, they can just do it over and over again," the midfielder notes. "It appears that they always find their target and they are adept at manage and neutralize a game. You can believe you're doing well and then suddenly they will just deliver a through ball past your midfield without you even noticing. You have to be alert at all times of the game. It takes a tough attitude and attention just to remain competitive."

New Chapter

The Welsh side pushed to sign Galbraith in January and secured his signature to secure him in the summer in a significant move. He made a name as a fans' favourite across multiple campaigns at his former club and has swiftly achieved similar status in Wales. At the London club he joined forces once more with Richie Wellens, who previously gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in professional games on loan at Doncaster from Old Trafford. Then came a loan at lower division Salford City, before he departed his boyhood club.

Learning Curve

"I was probably a slightly green going into professional soccer. I think many athletes would say under-23s football is completely distinct. Sometimes it feels like play is circulated without much intensity. You see few hard challenges. Once you start playing professional matches you have to learn quickly."

National Team Success

He has shown that growth for club and country, shining for Northern Ireland, who could still reach the international competition next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has featured in the last several matches, including both legs games against a football powerhouse. The ex-coach, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he manipulates the ball and his eye for a decisive through ball.

Early Days

This marks a remarkable path for the player from the neighborhood in Glengormley, just outside Belfast, who grew up watching his parent, the elder Galbraith, also a midfielder, play for a local club.

Old Trafford Memory

Galbraith's only game for Manchester United came in the away trip in 2019, a European competition trip to the Kazakh capital, where they competed on an plastic turf and the venue ceiling was shut owing to conditions of -15C. "This represented a lengthy journey and it was chilly," he recalls, grinning. "The week before, myself and quite a few of the young lads trained together, so that assisted our preparation. Just to accompany the senior squad and earn some playing time at the end was unbelievable."

Departing Old Trafford

What was the challenge was it to leave United, the club he joined from Linfield aged a teenager? "This turned out fairly simple, because I arrived at the moment where I knew I couldn't establish myself at the top level. I'm hugely grateful for the years at the club but it reached a stage where I thought I required a fresh start, move to a lower level and play first-team games. Now I'm slowly progressing again."

Welsh Adaptation

It is mid-afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has a commitment at 5pm: a learner's exam, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Prior to relocating to Sketty, the mid-twenties player was a constant rider in Swansea's dubbed team minibus, a minibus driven by club employees, the transport team, which ferries players to and from practice and games.

"My companions include a teammate, another squad member, Malick Yalcouyé – a former passenger used to be in it but has got his license. It's enjoyable to socialize with the guys but I'm aiming to be the next one to stop using the bus and on the road. His teammate is known for his humor; he's constantly causing mischief."

Fan Interactions

When he represented Leyton Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside followers on London's Central line after starting his journey at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
